Mint Roti

Mint is one of the most popular ingredients in both traditional Indian cuisine and native Indian medicine. This is because of the various pharmacological and therapeutic benefits of mint and mint-derivatives. From indigestion, weight gain, nausea, depression, fatigue to headache, asthma, memory loss, and skin care problems, mint is seen as an effective cure.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat Flour – 1 Cup
  • Mint Leaves – 1 Cup (Finely Chopped)
  • Green Chilly – 2 (Finely Chopped)
  • Onion – 1/4 Cup (Finely Chopped)
  • Salt – Required Quantity
  • Oil
  • Ghee

Preparation:

  • Heat 2 teaspoon of oil in a pan. Add, finely chopped onion, green chilly and mint. Sauté well. Switch off the stove and allow the contents to cool.
  • Take flour, salt and sautéed mint and onion in a bowl. Add water a little by little while kneading.
  • Make a soft dough. Apply oil on the dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions and roll in to balls. Gently press the balls and flatten them.
  • Now, roll out each ball. Keep aside.
  • Heat a tawa and place the rolled out roti. Add little ghee and cook both sides till roti turns brown.
  • Serve hot with any raita/kurma.
