2020 had been an extraordinary year for everyone in the world, more so for people working in the healthcare. Who would have imagined at the beginning of the year that our perception about everything in life would have changed forever by the end of the year.

Kauvery’s experts were one of the first ones to predict the impending pandemic as early as January and our team was fully prepared to handle the looming crisis that the healthcare industry will face once in a century.

Care of the Aging Eye

The elderly people form an integral part of our society. Although eye-related disorders can happen in any age group, they are more frequently seen in seniors. This is due to age-related physiological changes in the eye and increased prevalence of associated systemic comorbidities in the elders. Hence, it is imperative to understand the special issues associated with geriatric eye care. The goal of geriatric eye care is to maintain or improve the functional abilities of our elderly population so that they enjoy a good quality of life. The aim of this article is to highlight the key problems of the aging eye and how to manage these problems.

Epilepsy in Older Adults

Epilepsy is generally defined as a condition of the central nervous system when a group of neurons in one part of the brain or in total generates electrical discharges causing abnormal movements, sensation or behaviour. Epilepsy also means that person is liable to recurrence of this abnormal seizure activity. Having a single seizure doesn’t mean you have epilepsy. At least two unprovoked seizures are generally required for an epilepsy diagnosis.
