July 1st celebrates and acknowledges the service of, every doctor in our nation who has embraced this field with passion and principles and with the determination to serve, and heal, the injured and the ill.

India celebrates this day in memory of a remarkable and incredibly capable physician, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, who was also a much revered and respected Chief Minister of West Bengal.

India’s highest professional recognition bestowed on a doctor is the BC Roy National Award.

Intra Venous Line

This procedure of venepuncture to get access to a vein is a common procedure experienced by many patients. Though it may look like an easy task, it requires considerable practice to be perfect. The venflon prick frightens almost all patients irrespective of their age. I have always wondered “Why in these many years of schooling and graduation, not a single session was on how to handle relationships?” We have spent a major part of our life in education, preparing for professional life, which we fail to realize is only a small aspect of our life. We spend most of our time and energy on equipping ourselves for professional and social growth, forgetting about our personal relationships.
