An ultra short report with procedural video on SVC obstruction following a stenting

Case Presentation

A patient with Superior Vena Caval (SVC) developed obstruction (thrombosis) secondary to chemo port placement. He developed facial swelling, breathlessness and oedema of the upper limbs

He didn’t improve with anticoagulation.

Left Brachiocephalic venogram showed complete cut off of SVC so all the contrast was going into Azygos vein instead of Rt Atrium (RA).

So SVC stenting was done.

Post stenting: Rapid contrast flow into the RA and pulmonary artery was achieved. Stent was in place
