Glaucoma – The Silent Veil

A veil so soft, yet so dark and deep,

It drapes the world in shades of gray

With silent steps, it cloaks the vision

A quiet thief that darkens the sight and soul.

The pressure builds and mounts, a quiet silent fight,

The nerves are frayed with hidden pain and strain

The fog may rise, the vision gradually blurs

Behind a veil, the world grows faint as if to hide.

As shadows stretch, through every cloud, through every plea,

The landscape fades and the beauty of the world grows dim

Just like the water’s flow from a steady grip

There lies a struggle seeking fragments of light.

A healing hand, a timely cure and a daily fight,

The journey is long and the road is steep and twisted

But in the battle, there lies a hope so deep and strong

So hold on to the light, for there is no shadow that can maul
