Badam Milk Recipe

Badam milk is one of the traditional Indian beverages that has been consumed for ages to energize the body, balance the mind, beat weakness and improve overall health. Almonds are a rich source of healthy fats, proteins and minerals. They aid in controlling hypertension and diabetes. Kids too love a glass of thishealthy, protein-packed, delicious and flavourful milk that contains the goodness of almonds, cardamoms & saffron.

Ingredients:

  • Almonds: 30
  • Cardamoms: 2
  • Saffron: a few strands
  • Sugar as required
  • Milk: 3 cups

Method:

  • Soak the almonds in hot water for 30 minutes.
  • Drain the water and peel the almonds. You will just need to press the skin and it will come out easily.
  • Add the peeled almonds to a grinder jar along with seeds from 2 green cardamoms.
  • Add 1/4 cup milk and grind till smooth. Keep aside.
  • In a saucepan, heat milk and add in the prepared badam paste, a few strands of saffron and 3 teaspoons of sugar. Stir well.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes or till the milk thickens.
  • Serve badam milk or almond milk hot or chilled.

This is a straightforward way to prepare and enjoy a glass of healthy badam milk!
