We at Kauvery Hospital had the privilege, for the last two years, of taking care of Kalaignar Dr. M. Karunanidhi at his home. I will never forget the way I was constantly amazed by his intellect, memory and sense of humour. I recall that once when I mentioned to him that a doctor would be coming from the hospital to do a procedure on him that would be somewhat painful, he commented with a wry smile that anything about Kauvery is difficult and painful indicating about the difficulty of getting Kavery river water. Being part of his healthcare team was a great privilege and we will cherish the memories of those times forever.
