Dealing with sickness and disease can be difficult and complicated. As the old saying goes “Prevention is far better than cure.” This is often easier said than done. The best way to do it is to focus on what is called “positive health”, which means promoting health assets like exercise, proper diet etc. to create wellness and a feeling of wellbeing. Positive health equips people to deal with the chemical, biological, physical and psychosocial challenges of life with the minimum of stress and strain.
The flu season is not yet over and protecting ourselves from infection is important. Good personal hygiene and developing habits like avoiding touching the eyes, nose or mouth, keeping hands clean and so on will all help in this. If you so desire, there are some vaccines available that can help in prevent flu. Ask your physician for more information on this.
World Epilepsy Day was celebrated with an epilepsy support program conducted by our neurologist, Dr. Prithika Chary. It was well attended with many patients sharing their experiences.
Our clinical services in the Andaman Islands commenced with the conducting of Spine, Urology, Orthopedic and Cardiac camps at Port Blair.
During the last month our annual health camps for children covered DAV and Lady Sivasami schools. This has always been very important to us because we know that children are the future of our nation.
