Dear K-Way Readers,

March is known for the start of spring, many holidays, and colourful social events.

International Women’s Day is one such very important day celebrated on March 8th. This day honours women’s achievements and enthusiastically supports the ongoing quest for gender equality.

The theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) in 2025 is Accelerate Action.

It’s now time to translate words into action and accelerate the action.

The theme calls for urgent action to correct setbacks and ensure that women are not left behind in the post-pandemic recovery.

The COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately affected women, particularly in terms of job losses, increased unpaid caregiving burdens, and heightened domestic violence.

Yet they had to bear consequence of the losses of lives in the family, particularly that of a spouse yet continue to protect the children and the elders.

Urgent and coordinated measures are necessary to recover lost ground and to ensure that women continue to make great progress in the society; therein lies the greatness of a nation.

How Can We Participate

The theme calls for collective action to accelerate gender equality. One has to understand that gender equality starts right from birth.

Education is the first milestone to pass in achieving gender equality. We need to encourage women to educate themselves, to start working and be financially independent.

This will give self-respect and also to gain respect in our society.

However, the emotional quotient, which is basic women’s nature of being lovable and empathetic shouldn’t change.

Good health and good financial independence are of utmost importance for confidence in women.

Good health, both mental and physical, lays the foundation of a good home. A good home nurtures good, confident children and therefore a healthy society.

Women should be encouraged to gain knowledge and awareness about themselves; yearly annual check-ups are very essential. They should have a healthy lifestyle and should understand the importance of work-life balance. Good social circle gives forward thinking and a sense of well-being.

They should know about self-defence and also learn such techniques. They should also get involved in social work. They should not succumb to media and digital addiction and should have good knowledge about cyber security.

Most importantly, they need to be self-reliant. They need to know about savings and banking. Women need to have health insurance and should be made aware of it.

Here in Kauvery, we are delighted to say that women constitute 60 percent of the workforce and have been given equality in the workplace.

Post-COVID, single mothers and young widows have been given priority in placement at Kauvery.
We thank the administration for their utmost care.

We wish every woman a very special women’s day.

Every woman is special in her own way.

Have a great month ahead!

Marching Ahead with Kauvery!

Hello Kauverians! Welcome to Nurturing November
By Uma & Vishnu

As we step into March, we take a moment to reflect on the meaningful moments that shaped February at Kauvery. It was a month of connection, awareness, and commitment—one that reinforced our role as caregivers and strengthened our bond with the community.

We began the month by observing World Cancer Day, dedicating time to raising awareness about early detection, treatment, and support for those affected by cancer. Through informative sessions and survivor stories, we reaffirmed our commitment to compassionate care and the fight against cancer.

Valentine’s Day at Kauvery wasn’t just about love in the traditional sense, it was a celebration of kindness and appreciation, reminding us that care and compassion define everything we do. Small gestures of gratitude across the hospital made the day special for both patients and staff.

March brings with it new opportunities to grow, engage, and make a lasting impact. One of the most significant occasions this month is International Women’s Day, a celebration that holds deep meaning for us at Kauvery. With 60% of our team being women, their contributions are not just significant—they are the very foundation of our success.

Women form the backbone of healthcare, whether as doctors, nurses, caregivers, administrators, or support staff. Their dedication, resilience, and expertise drive our mission of healing and compassion every day. At Kauvery we don’t just celebrate Women’s Day, we take it as an opportunity to recognize, empower, and uplift the incredible women who make a difference in our hospital and beyond. This year, we look forward to hosting special events, appreciation programs, and discussions that highlight the invaluable contributions of women in healthcare. More importantly, we reaffirm our commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and growth-oriented environment where women feel valued and empowered to thrive.

We also anticipate World Kidney Day, a reminder of the importance of kidney health and preventive care. Through screenings, educational sessions, and patient engagement initiatives, we aim to spread awareness and promote well-being.

As we move forward, we remain committed to excellence in care, learning, and service. Every day at Kauvery is an opportunity to make a difference, and together, we will continue to uplift lives and strengthen our community.

Here’s to a meaningful March, filled with inspiration, progress, and the joy of making a difference!

A Heart That Refused To Break

Dear readers, I believe everyday is a gift. No matter how tough our past may have been, we wake up with fresh hopes and the chance to welcome positiveness. One such day at work, I was making my usual rounds at the hospital, determined to bring warmth and encouragement to every patient with a simple, heartfelt smile.

As I walked into a ward, I saw a woman smiling at me. Her face felt familiar, yet I couldn’t recognize her immediately. I took a step closer, searching my memory, and then it clicked, it was a patient I had visited frequently in the past. But this time, she looked different. Her body had changed, but her smile remained just as bright.

She was a 35-year-old mother of two, who had first come to the hospital for a simple fever. However, further tests showed her platelet levels were low, and a bone marrow biopsy revealed that she had leukemia. What started as a routine checkup turned into a long six-month battle with cancer.

What moved me the most was not just her strength but also her unwavering spirit. Despite the pain, the uncertainty, and the emotional toll of the illness, she chose to remain strong, not just for herself, but for her family. Her children were preparing for their board exams, and instead of letting, they see her struggle, she put on a brave face, never letting her suffering overshadow their dreams. Her husband, a pillar of support, stood by her side through every hospital visit, ensuring she felt comforted and cared for.

Every time I visited her, I left feeling more inspired. She refused to let cancer define her. Instead of dwelling on her illness, she immersed herself in painting and games, keeping her mind engaged and her heart light. Even when she lost her beautiful hair, she never lost her confidence. She would smile and say, “I will be alright. I will heal.”And she did.

With the help of doctors, the care of nurses, and her own determination, she completed her treatment successfully. The day she was discharged was a moment of pure joy, She could finally return home, ready to be there for her children during their exams, just as she had always promised.

Her story left a deep impact on me. In a world where people often complain about temporary inconveniences or seek validation from others, she taught me something invaluable: self-love and self-acceptance are the greatest strengths we can possess. When you truly love and believe in yourself, you don’t need external appreciation, you become your own source of strength. So, embrace yourself as you are. Stay confident. Keep smiling. The world is yours.
