Dear colleagues,

The NIGHTINGALE opens the 2023 season of the KAUVERIAN Scientific Journals with its New Year Edition on 15 January.

Appropriately, we open with a paper that vividly illustrates Kauvery Hospitals’ unique slogan ‘N4’-Numma Nurse Nalla Nurse!

That stunning paper is “The Good Nurse” by our opening scorer, Kanimozhi. S, Nurse Educator, Department of Nursing, Kauvery Hospital, Hosur.

It is a worthy successor to what the KAUVERIAN published earlier-by solo authors , “I am proud to be an Emergency Nurse” and “I am proud to be a liver transplant nurse”, and the epic papers by two groups on their ‘Lived in experience through COVID-19’, first by the junior nurses and then by the senior nurses.

Hosur scores a hattrick on this issue, with “Success story of a patient with Hemangioma”, by Mr. Vishnu. C, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, Kauvery Hospital, Hosur, followed by

‘Role of Physiotherapy in Bell’s Palsy at Outpatient Department – A Case Presentation’, by C. Sugendhiran, A. Ramkumar, S. Kamalanayagi, Physiotherapists, Kauvery Hospital, Hosur.

Heart City bats next, with two unique papers, on challenging topics: ‘Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia, a Cardiomyopathy’, by Vijayalakshmi and Ambiga, Nursing In charge and Senior Staff Nurse respectively, Kauvery Heart city and

“Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and PVCs” by T Jasmine Rajareegam Princely &, Ranjitha, Nursing Incharge, Senior Staff Nurse respectively, Kauvery Heartcity, Trichy

Tennur scores twice, first, a blow-by-blow account of an encounter with a viper that led to ARDS in a 36 years aged lady-“Team work makes a Dream work” by Leema Rebakkal Rosy & Sathiya Prabha, Assistant Nursing Superintendent & Staff Nurse, respectively at Kauvery Hospital, Tennur.

Tennur scores again, with another meticulous account, ‘Cholecysto Cutaneous Fistula, an emerging problem, a challenging outcome’, by Arputhamary & Menaga, Assistant Nursing Superintendent and Staff Nurse respectively at Kauvery Hospital, Tennur.

Chennai bats impressively with “Adhesive Small Bowel Obstruction – Nutrition Care Process” by Renuka Prasanth, Senior Clinical Dietician, Department of Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics, Kauvery Hospital, Chennai.

ASBO is a challenge for the GI surgeon and a nightmare for the patient; often it is a bad dream that returns over and again to haunt.

Salem is never absent from the pitch! ‘The Diagnostic Image’ for this issue comes from L. Indumathi, Nurse Educator, Department of Nursing, Kauvery Hospital, Salem.

Do read, and write for the Kauverian Scientific Journals – the KAUVERIAN and the NIGHTINGALE.

Do kindly give us also your feedback; bouquets and brickbats are equally welcome.

Best regards
