Dear Colleagues,

Nightingales sing.

Humans talk.

But humans can also write.

Writing has a permanence about it and, invariably, gains value over the years for its prescience and insights.

We request all Kauverians to also write.

Physiotherapists pick up the baton first this time.

GK Balasubramani begins this issue as a physiotherapist and ends it as a poet, with two poems.

Vasanth, an IT professional, is also a poet and graciously felicitates Doctors on their Day, 01 July 23.

Both Balasubramani and Vibinkumar, both physiotherapists, write on hefty neurological concerns and their rehabilitation. The former writes about a symptom which hits as a bolt from the blue and can be very upsetting to the sufferer. I had an airline captain who came to me once, nearly in tears.

Vibinkumar addresses a much more serious matter with unpredictable outcomes – Traumatic Brain Injury.

Vijayalakshmi, Senior Clinical Pharmacist at Heart City is rightly enthusiastic about the cardioprotective benefits which come as a bonus from the new generation antidiabetics.

Mahalakshmi, also from Heart City, gently guides on choosing Safe foods in Summer.

Then, the real Nightingale steps in! Allamma, from Salem sings about how she became an accomplished OT Nurse.

Mr. Dhanasekar is determined to make all of us feel good about Kauvery Hospitals making a mark as a determined leader on the national healthcare front.

He writes enthusiastically about the potential of the IoT system on the electrical powerplant at Chennai Kauvery. This was put up under the category of facility improvement initiative and won the Health Care Asia award for the category.

The editors wind up the issue by posting Elsevier UK Medicine’s summary of major advances in Nutrition, for Nurses.

Best regards

Kauvery Hospital
