Learn LEAN through QOK

During the 4th QOK in March 2023, our managing director proposed the development of a KOACH Module based on a project presented as a learning concept. Following this idea, the business excellence team created a module incorporating 64 pieces of Video content from the projects presented in the 5th QOK.

Background

Following the 5th QOK, the Business Excellence team didn’t embark on this journey alone. Recognizing the importance of cross-functional collaboration, they joined forces with the Innovations team. Together, we charted a strategic roadmap for implementing the proposed projects within the module. This collaborative effort ensured a clear timeline, guaranteeing the entire module would be ready for launch before the upcoming 6th QOK in April 2024.

Objective

The heart of the program lies in the 64 project ideas presented at the subsequent QOK. The Business Excellence and Innovations teams collaborated to transform these concepts into a practical, hands-on training module designed to equip employees with the tools and knowledge necessary to identify and eliminate waste in their daily work processes.

By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, we aimed to enhance productivity, streamline operations, and ultimately deliver superior patient outcomes. The module was meticulously structured to ensure employees gain a deep understanding of LEAN principles and their application in real-world settings. The creation of the module was a comprehensive endeavor spanning three months, encompassing meticulous planning, diligent execution, and rigorous evaluation.

Continuous Improvement Process

Collaboration is Key

A key factor in the success of this initiative was the strong collaboration between the Business Excellence and Innovations teams. Their combined expertise was instrumental in developing a strategic roadmap for the module’s implementation, ensuring its timely launch ahead of the 6th QOK.

This innovative approach to learning exemplified Kauvery’s commitment to empowering its workforce. By providing employees with the skills to drive process improvement, the hospital has created a dynamic and engaged workforce capable of meeting the challenges of a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

As we continue our journey towards continuous improvement, this LEAN learning module will serve as a cornerstone for achieving sustainable growth and delivering exceptional patient experiences and highly supportive for the upcoming QOK & other quality initiatives
