Our Dear K-way Readers!

On behalf of all Kauverians, I wish you all a happy and heathy new year – 2022!

We have passed two years of the pandemic- a difficult, painful time.

Many families have lost their loved ones and many have gained new relationships.

We certainly miss what we lost, but we are also thankful for what we gained- courage, patience, mental strength, tenacity, determination.

We have learned adaptability, and an ability to be kind and supportive to others especially to our own family, friends and colleagues.

We have now learned to accept that the New Normal has become the Near Normal.

We have learned to live with masking, physical distancing, personal and environmental hygiene, and most of all, vaccination.

World over, the single most important fact we have learned is that COVID is likely to cause severe and critical illness in the unvaccinated.

The more of us all over the world are vaccinated, we are safer together.

Still many populations in the developing world are inadequately vaccinated.

COVID is raging in those countries while we get updates only from the developed world.

A former British prime minister candidly admitted a few days ago – “The failure to protect our brothers and sisters shall be a stain on our souls.”

We in India are fortunate to have world’s largest community of educated and technologically competent young people. We are able manufacture the equipment and the material to deal with this pandemic.

India has made the vaccines for our country and the world.

It is a year since India began vaccinating our people. The protection may have begun to wane. It is time we undertake precautionary enhancement of the immune status of our front line workers, which include health workers, vulnerable people and our adolescents.

The New Year begins with this initiative.

We are the ones destined to be in this period, which saw a pandemic after a century. We felt insecure but controlled our fear, we devised ways to survive and we saw our civilization’s fastest technological achievement of creating a vaccine against a new and strange disease.

We saw the edifice of the world economy shudder, stagger and stabilize to its “new normal!”

But health is our greatest wealth.

Ultimately sound physical and mental health is the engine of the economy of the family, country and the world.

We can make our place in this planet a better place, if when we balance our lives physically and mentally.

We should ensure that this place is safe for our children.

They shall be our future.

This edition highlights the importance of being, and staying healthy. Kauvery hospitals is proud to contribute its services to the society and shall continue to do so.

We’d love to know what you think about our monthly newsletter. Feel free to connect with us through feedback@kauveryhospital.com.

Stay healthy and happy through 2022.

Dishoom Dishoom Diabetes 2021

Access to diabetes care – if not now, then when? This is the World Diabetes Day theme for the year 2021.

To create awareness about the metabolic disorder, the Department of Diabetology conducted the third edition of ‘Dishoom Dishoom Diabetes’, a patient awareness expo, at Kauvery Health Center on December 19th, Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Almost more than 300 people participated with the highlight of the event being the investigations which were done free of cost – these investigations included random blood sugar, HbA1c, lipid profile, fundus screening and foot examination. Nutrition counselling was done and healthy snacks were distributed to the participants. Physiotherapy counselling as well as life style management expertise was rendered by the trained physiotherapy team. Special yoga for diabetes was taught by experts and there was also a Zumba event which livened up the proceedings. Overall, the day was extremely informative to all the participants who realized that they could lead a healthy life with diabetes.

Reset and Restart

Greetings from Innovations!

uma-chan

We are at the finish line of 2021, a new dawn is almost upon us. As one year ends and a new one starts it is up to us to choose how we are going to make this chapter one of the best chapters in our lives. New years and our birthdays have one thing in common. We often use it as the timeline to compare the growth of our improvements, from one year to another and from one birthday to the next.

A week from now, you will often find people asking you what your New Year’s resolution is. New Year’s resolutions allow us to make a promise to ourselves in the hope of self-improvement, but unfortunately, they are also known for not lasting long. Studies show that only 8% of people who set a New Year’s resolution go on to achieve those goals. Have you ever considered why that is? A lot of these resolutions fail simply because it is vague, often unrealistic, and lacks proper planning.

At Innovations, we are all for new year’s resolution, but we believe setting goals with a clear plan will help you achieve them rather than just vaguely saying “I want to do this”. You not only need a plan for what to do, but also for what roadblocks you’ll come across along the way. If you have already made resolutions for 2022, this is a good time to convert them to goals. Don’t forget to celebrate your progress and what you have achieved when you are reviewing your goals.

All of us at Innovations truly hope 2022 will be the best year of your life because you knew you had the power to make it so, and you did.

December was a month filled with many emotions. A feeling of nostalgia for the year that flew by, a feeling of festivity and celebration, and a feeling of excitement anticipating the new things to come. This month saw the Christmas celebration in its full spirit where Kauverians enthusiastically decked up their floors and participated in the ever-popular “Chris mom-Chris child event”. It was also a month of appreciation and recognition for all the hard work our Kauverians have put in.

We are thrilled to share that KOACH, our learning app won the motivation award from an external jury at Medicall 2021- the largest medical expo in India. It was also the month where HR’s from across the units came together for the annual HR conclave. At the training end, this month was dedicated entirely to our annual employee refresher training program. Here are a few snapshots from our December to remember.
