Welcome to December.

Your keen receptivity to our K-Way digital platform every month inspires us to endeavour to bring you the most useful and up-to-date information about health care. Such information comes to you directly and lucidly from our doctors.

As we have come to the last month of 2021, we realize how time has flown. Did we make use of it wisely?

The pandemic years have certainly taught us many unforgettable lessons – about safeguarding health of self and family, both mental and physical. However, we know that we struggled with both – that of our own, our elders and our children. It was not easy to cope as we were unprepared; it was unexpected, and we took time to accept reality. The pandemic exacted a great toll on the mental and physical health of every individual in the world. Let us learn to recover, and let us hope we can undo the damage done to our children, elders and ourselves.

We wish you a healthier and less rainy, month ahead. And a happier, healthier new year starting just a month away. Let us celebrate every day as we do the 1st day of a new year. Let us wake up to every day, and see the dawn of the day as the best gift the day can bring to us, as life can be so unpredictable. To see, hear, talk, think, eat, move our limbs freely, to see our whole-body function, and to love and be loved, are all very special gifts. If we have all these, and more, we should be happy to live, let live and love.

Failing to comprehend what is happening to their life, fun, education and the preparation for a career has driven our younger generation towards mental health problems long before physical health problems manifest. It is our duty to make sure the younger generation is protected, supported, counselled and guided, to make their world a healthier and happier place. It is the social responsibility of every citizen to safeguard the mental health of the younger generation. That shall be our closing theme for this year and the opening theme for next year. Because our life and love are invested in our children!

Thank you.

Stay safe.

Merry Christmas!
