Dr. Aravindan introduced the course to the delegates in his talk on Trauma management at Kauvery. He briefed his background in trauma training at Ahmedabad and United Kingdom. His exposure to Advanced trauma life supports training in UK. On his return from UK, he faced the shocking social impact on the lives of the trauma victims and their families in India. The breadwinner often is involved in accidents. He highlighted the importance of multi-disciplinary teams managing trauma which are exemplary at Kauvery Hospital. He named the teams starting from the Emergency team, anaesthesia, Surgical teams (including General Surgeons, Ortho, Neuro, Plastic, Vascular, Cardiothoracic, fascio maxillary team, ENT, Ophthal, Obstetrics etc), Paediatrics, Intensive care team, Radiology teams, Supporting teams such as Pathology, haematology, blood bank, auxiliary teams, emergency teams involved in the transfer of trauma patients. Many lives have been saved by Kauvery over many years and quality of life has been improved. He explained the value of this course material shared by all the specialists who manage trauma patients.
