The cloud over a young life

Teenager MS did not know a happy and healthy day since early childhood which was a great worry for her mother. MS has ITP which is a complex blood disease called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. That simply means that she tends to bleed repeatedly due to deficiency of platelets in the blood due to an as yet not completely understood disease. What is known is that it is an Auto-Immune Disease where the body itself damages the production of platelets in the bone marrow.MS was particularly at risk of bleeding into the brain which did happen several times. Her life had become one of the repeated transfusions.

At Kauvery her treatment has been carefully planned and the hope is that the disease would eventually remit and let the teenager lead a life of better quality.
