Kauvery Hospital Presents ‘Dishoom Dishoom Diabetes’ Expo A Pioneering Initiative for Diabetes Management

• More than 600 people were expected to be screened on a single day

‘Dishoom Dishoom Diabetes’ is a comprehensive expo designed to address the effective management of diabetic ailments. Scheduled for December 3rd the event will offer free check-ups on Vitals , Eye tests, Dental tests, Biothesiometry examination, spot Lipid Profile, spot HBA1C and Fundus Screening. Beyond health screenings, attendees can explore stalls featuring diabetic-friendly foods, diet supplements, footwear, physiotherapy, diet counseling, and various other diabetic care products.

India has an estimated 77 million people (1 in 11 Indians) formally diagnosed with diabetes, which makes it the second most affected in the world. Furthermore, 700,000 Indians died of diabetes, hyperglycemia, kidney disease or other complications of diabetes in 2020. One in six people (17%) in the world with diabetes is from India. India’s population as calculated in October 2018 was about 17.5% of the global total. As per the International Diabetes Federation the ever-growing percentage of diabetic patients will reach 134 million by 2045. Untreated diabetes can lead to severe health complications, including cardiovascular disease, nerve damage, kidney damage, Alzheimer’s disease, and depression. The endeavor of this DISHOOM DISHOOM DIABETES program is to educate the attendees on aspects, which are most often overlooked by them such as obesity, sedentary lifestyle, genetics, age, and family history.

In a pioneering move, Kauvery Hospital introduces ‘Diabetes on Wheels.’ This specially equipped vehicle will traverse Chennai for 100 days, screening people for diabetes as part of an awareness campaign.
