Heart from Coimbatore transported to Kauvery Hospital Chennai within 1 and half hours by air, gives a new lease of life
Chennai, 24th April 2023: The heart of a brain dead patient in a private hospital, Coimbatore was retrieved and transported via air to Chennai Kauvery Hospital for a transplant on Saturday night. The organ was shifted within 15 minutes via a green corridor created from Chennai International Airport to Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet. The organ shifting was overall completed within 1.5 hours.
We thank Airport Authority of India at Coimbatore & Chennai, and Chennai Traffic Police Personnel for extending their help, making transport seamless and support in this noble cause as reducing travel time of donated organs increases the success of transplantation substantially.
