7 reasons why people faint

Why do people faint?
Fainting or syncope is when a person has a brief, sudden loss of consciousness. There are many reasons that can cause this decrease in blood to the brain, including, illnesses, deficiencies and traumas.

1. Illnesses
–  Heart problems like arrhythmia
– Seizures
– Hypoglycemia
– Poor regulation of blood pressure
Parkinson’s disease
– Peripheral autonomic neuropathy

2. Deficiencies
– Anemia
– Deficiency of Vitamin B-12

3. Traumas
– Physical trauma, like a blow to the head
– Mental trauma, like a shock

4. Dehydration
Dehydration causes blood pressure to drop
– This stimulates the vagus nerve
– The loss of just 1% to 2% of your body weight through dehydrating could cause fainting

5. Migraines
– Can cause dizziness, either with or without headaches
Migraine-related vertigo may cause sensitivity to motion, light, and sound

6. Inner ear imbalance
– Your inner ear contains otoconia
– These are calcium and protein-based sensing crystals
– If dislodged, they can float into inner ear’s canals
– This triggers imbalance and syncope

7. Certain kinds of medication
– Dizziness is a side effect of certain medicines
– If your medication is causing dizziness, tell your doctor
