With more than 25 years of expertise, Dr. Murugu Sundara Pandiyan is a well-known authority in the fields of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. He has successfully completed more than 5000 adult, pediatric, thoracic, and aortic procedures over the years. Dr. R. Murugu graduated from the esteemed Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, with a bachelor’s degree and postgraduate study in general surgery. His M.Ch (CTVS) was completed at SCTIMST, Trivandrum.
Additionally, he worked as an overseas registrar at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia, where he was given the unique opportunity to be appointed “Chief Resident,” a title that is rarely given to trainees who are not residents. He has authored numerous articles in reputable national and international journals over his academic career. In addition, he hosted international conferences and CME programs.
Additionally, he completed a heart and lung transplant observership at the University of Minnesota in the United States.
