Dear All,

3

It was an amazing and wonderful year 2019 and I wish everyone a very Happy New year 2020, full of positive health, wellness and abundance in your lives.

Globally, the healthcare providers are facing significant challenges with very high expectations from all the stakeholders. I was asked recently by the Outlook magazine about the reasons for success of kauvery hospital under these difficult conditions.

On introspection, I realized that our mission of providing great healthcare at affordable cost and the six core values which have been the DNA of our organisation are the main reasons behind our success.

I request you all to actively engage in this journey of achieving great health at affordable cost.

Have a fabulous year ahead.

Best Wishes

Dear Well Wisher,

4

Greeting from the Kauvery family.

It has now been eight years since, our third hospital in Chennai has opened its doors.

When we started operations in Chennai, many people were skeptical about our success,as we were from a small town of Trichy, now and again we have proved them wrong by setting high medical standards and by providing ethical medical care at affordable costs.

Today’s patient concern is about the eroding trust and lack of empathy from caregivers.

At Kauvery, we have always believed that transparency, trust and a personal touch are our core competencies. It is these three pillars that have enabled us to establish a healthy connection with the city and its people.

Our New Year’s resolve, is to strengthen these pillars and to spread health and happiness in the community we serve.

On behalf of the entire Kauvery family, I wish you and your family a very happy and healthy year ahead.

Best Wishes
Dr. Manivannan Selvaraj
Co-Founder & Managing Director

Our dear ardent K-WAY readers,

dr kavitha

As we stand on the threshold of a new year filled with anticipation and good hopes for the future, I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a very happy prosperous and healthy 2020! May this year bring contentment and happiness to all!

To be born as a human being is indeed a blessing as we not only possess the five, basic senses, but also another very important yet undervalued sense of morality and humanitarianism which is much needed in today’s world.

As happy as we are about the upcoming New Year, many of us also feel a fear about the technological advances our world makes every year. We have indeed come a long way from the STONE AGE, only to get sadly locked up in the PHONE AGE! In spite of all the debates, over the advantages of technology, we have to realize that social media has actually made us unsocial.

As doctors, we see it affecting the mental health as well as the physical health of people equally.

This year let’s all wish, pray and make a promise to our society, that although technology will only advance further, we will never leave behind the fundamental human values of love and attachment.

Let’s make sure we preserve our morality and dignity as human beings and make 2020 a year to remember!

We’d love to know what you think about our monthly newsletter, feel free to connect with us through feedback@kauveryhospital.com.

Life of Doctors - Patients, Medicine and Beyond...

This month the life beyond doctors section gives you an engrossing fascinating short story written by our very own senior colleague Dr. Venkita. S. Suresh.

Happy New Year!

“Hi Sooraj,’’ a voice rang out, clear as a bell, from my vicinity.

That was not my name, yet I looked back. It did not sound like a human voice. I thought it came from a parakeet.

“Hi Sushma,’’ The high-pitched voice chirped again.

Then I saw the bird, a budgerigar, budgie for short. It was in a cage, dangling on the porch of a quiet middle-class home in Ballygunge, Kolkata, which looked uninhabited. Someone had left a cup of water and a few nuts beside the bird. It looked lonely, perhaps missing human companionship.
