Chennaites Come Together For A Healthier Heart On The Occasion Of World Heart Day!
29th September 2019, Chennai: Kauvery Hospital Chennai, a multi-specialty hospital that specializes in tertiary care, organized a free yoga session on the 29th of September, 2019 (Sunday) towards the occasion of World Heart Day wherein people came together for a healthier tomorrow.
Through this initiative, Kauvery Hospital aimed to create awareness on how one can keep their heart healthy with all the benefits associated with yoga.
The session was led by Mr. Vikram Srinivasan, a popular Celebrity Yoga trainer and life style consultant. Vikram has been practicing Yoga from the age of six and has received the All India Yoga champion award in 1999 and the Yoga Kalaimani award in 2006. He introduced simple stress relief tips that aided in reducing one’ heart related health risks.
Participating in the yoga session and thanking Kauvery Hospital for this initiative, Ms. A. Jayalakshmi, Deputy Commissioner of Police, law and order, of Mylapore District said, “It was a wonderful sight to watch people practicing yoga with their entire family. The interactive session gave participants insights on how to cope better with stress through fitness and yoga, as it is a fact that most of the significant heart complications are related to stress.”
The event was introduced to encourage Yoga as a community event and to inspire individuals to see it as a fun activity. The focus of the one-hour yoga session was on improving breathing and increasing flexibility. By the end of the session, all the participants were energized and revitalized as it provided them with enlightenment on self-awareness.
