Raw Mango Chutney/Pacha Manga Chammanthi
This simple no-cook chutney is a wonderful go-to side dish when you’re running short of time. While it might be simple, it does not in any way compromise on taste as the flavours of raw mango and coconut combine with other spices to give it a delicious zing that will keep you coming back for more.
Ingredients:
- Raw mango – ½ of a whole
- Shallots – 4
- Green chillies – 2
- Dry red chillies – 3
- Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
- Grated coconut – ½ cup
- Ginger – ½ inch piece
- Coconut oil – 1 tsp
- Salt according to individual taste
Method
- Take half of a raw mango and cut it into small pieces.
- Add the mango pieces to the mixer and grind along with both the chillies, ginger and shallots.
- Now, add the coconut and the curry leaves to the mixture and grind again.
- Add coconut oil and salt and mix well to finish.
- This chutney can be had as a side dish with rice.
Raw mangoes are nutrient-rich and have numerous benefits. This chutney is a great way to incorporate raw mangoes into our diet.
