As you all would have rightly guessed from the name, the pizookie or skillet chocolate cookie is a huge cookie studded with chocolate chips that makes a delicious dessert. You can serve it warm with ice cream to further enhance its richness.
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter – ½ cup
- Sugar – ¼ cup
- Brown sugar – ½ cup
- Egg – 1
- Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
- Flour – 1½ cups
- Baking soda – ¾ tsp
- Salt – ½ tsp
- Chocolate chips or chunks – 1 cup
Method
- Start by preheating the oven to 350F or 180°
- Place a cast iron skillet that is around 9-10 inches in diameter over low heat on the stove.
- Melt the butter in this skillet.
- Once melted, remove and add both the sugar varieties to this.
- Let this mixture cool and then add the egg.
- Gently stir the egg and the vanilla extract in.
- Once this is done, add the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Add the chocolate chips and even out the batter in the skillet.
- Bake this for 20 minutes.
- When the top turns golden, your pizookie is done!
- You can serve it as it is or with vanilla ice cream.
