Skillet Chocolate Cookie

As you all would have rightly guessed from the name, the pizookie or skillet chocolate cookie is a huge cookie studded with chocolate chips that makes a delicious dessert. You can serve it warm with ice cream to further enhance its richness.

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter – ½ cup
  • Sugar – ¼ cup
  • Brown sugar – ½ cup
  • Egg – 1
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
  • Flour – 1½ cups
  • Baking soda – ¾ tsp
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Chocolate chips or chunks – 1 cup

Method

  • Start by preheating the oven to 350F or 180°
  • Place a cast iron skillet that is around 9-10 inches in diameter over low heat on the stove.
  • Melt the butter in this skillet.
  • Once melted, remove and add both the sugar varieties to this.
  • Let this mixture cool and then add the egg.
  • Gently stir the egg and the vanilla extract in.
  • Once this is done, add the flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Add the chocolate chips and even out the batter in the skillet.
  • Bake this for 20 minutes.
  • When the top turns golden, your pizookie is done!
  • You can serve it as it is or with vanilla ice cream.
